[F500] chain drive sprockets

I get a new plain jane sprocket and chain every year whether it needs it or not. This season, I'll run 6 weekends at Waterford with between 5-6 sessions a weekend counting co-driver. This season, I had to replace the sprocket since the car tangled with a formula ford, but usually they're good for a spare at the end of the season.

Although my sprocket is a "custom" sprocket, I don't think it's one they have to actually make before they ship it. They always have it on the shelf and ship it within a day for me. I run a 520 bike chain so if you've got something different, that could explain it. Maybe you could ask them if they have something that would work so you could finish the season out.

I'm considering trying out the titan tough coat they advertise. Let us know what you think of it when you do get it.

Good Luck and thanks,

Bob

I was told 4 weeks if it wasnt hardened and 8 weeks if it was hardened.
Some BS excuse about an aluminum stock shortage, or something to that
effect. How do the sprockets hold up, without the hardening, or do you
get it done at a local shop, after you recieve the sprocket?

I don't get the hardened sprocket and usually take delivery in less than
a week. Just a thought........

List,
I finally got my countershaft sprocket today from a Martin sprocket
dealer here in KC. The HT sprocket was $26.42 plus tax, considerably
higher than what everyone said it would cost. I also ordered my Sprocket
Specialty axle sprocket $73 with the hardening treatment, but they said
that I would have to wait 8 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess autocross season is now over for me? Anyone know of an alternate
source for the motorcycle hub style rear sprocket, because I sure would
like to get one sooner.
