[F500] F5/FMod updates

Chuck,

I would guess that if this allowance passes, then the SEB/MAC can come out
with a clarification stating what mods would be permitted to the manifold to
allow fitting or what manifold could be used. That would be the easiest way.


A member just stated that a sidedraft manifold was/is available from 2si.
I've also found out that very early on when AMW tried to get a 440 AMW
approved to run against the Kawi, a manifold was on that engine that allowed
the use of the Mikunis. I don't know if these manifold is still available or
not from 2si. Anyway, I'm sure the problem will be fixed to allow the proper
fitting. IMHO of course. It will have to be researched further.

Perhaps we should contact the factory.
If they have something, it will "sell" the idea better if it is a spec
manifold.

  On the AMW I had...the carbs were down draft's....the Mikuni 38VM's are
side
  drafts....the 38VM's wont work without manifold modifications.

  No, there is no add'l intake required nor approved. The Mikunis should fit
  into the intake setup of the AMWs since the AMW carbs are really 38s
choked
  down to 34s.

  If the AMW gets to run  VM38s does AMW have an approved intake setup for
  them and is it guaranteed to make the same power ? Or do we get  to use

  tune any intake we like?  Seeing as how I don't currently own a Rotax , I
  kinda like this idea! Pick up an easy 25 plus HP over my anemic little
Kaw.
