[F500] sprockets?

Bill,
The Novakars run jackshafts that are 1" on one end and 1.25" on the other. The inboard bearing on my car is a 1" ID bearing and the outboard is 1.25". The sprocket butts up against the bearing. I don't think there is a standard motorcycle sprocket that fits on a round shaft. If you find one, please let me know (I haven't looked real hard). My current gears are Martin gears turned down to accept the 520 chain. I'm considering having a custom splined jackshaft made so I can use the motorcycle sprockets without going through the hassle of getting the gears turned down. I brought the splined shafts up as food for thought.
On another note, I just bought a sprocket hub off ebay for $20 from a racing kart company. It's a little smaller than what I had before. The old one is a little sloppy but will still work if the hub doesn't live. It was for 1.25" inch axle with the 5.25" spacing between the 6 holes. I'm a little worried about it twisting, but it should be OK. We'll see. If anyone is interested, I'll post results about it's performance after the next few races.

Bob,
If I didnt go with the splined jackshaft setup, how does a standard
motorcycle style drive sprocket fit our standard 1inch shaft with the
keyway?

I run a 520 motorcycle chain and a custom sprocket from Sprocket
Specialists. The chain is a little over $100 (higher quality) and the
driven sprocket is $35 or so. The drive sprockets are martin gears.
The gears cost like $12, but need to be turned down to 520 spec on a
lathe. That's a pretty cheap operation as well. I know one guy that
had his jackshaft splined by micro-belmont to accept standard motorcycle
sprockets. I'll probably go that way myself this off season. No more
worries about set screws that work themselves loose or spread keyways.

List,
Anyone know which direction I need to look for converting secondary
drive from belt to chain? Are these sprockets for carts, atvs,
motorcycles, industrial. Most of them I have seen have a center hole
that is 3 or 4 inches in diameter. My axle I believe is a 1 inch
diameter.thanks.
