Yes, I would replace a bent bar to ensure that it doesn't cause a problem
on the track. Measure the relative positions from the center of the
brake pedal to each master cylinder link. That way you can set the car
up the way the previous owner had it set. Chances are good that you will
find that setting useable. It will be, at least, a good starting point
to set the car up to suit your driving preferences.
