Bryan,

There should be no "preload" nor "slack" in the oil injection cable. When
the carbs are at the closed position, the oil injection cable should allow
the lever to be against the stop. More important, the oil injector should be
at the full open position when the carbs are wide open. Make sure that the
oil injector control cable is not limiting the operation of the carb slides.

I have a shop manual CD for the Kawasaki 440 for sale. If you are
interested, contact me at: reddivelsix at msn.com

Micro-Belmont has a cable assy designed for the F440 cars. They can be
reached at 616-534-9681. They are located in Grand Rapids, MI or on line at
http://www.microbelmont.com/

AAEN Performance may also have a cable assy. I don't think that Dennis Kirk
will have any thing as all their stuff is for snowmobiles.

Richard
