It's great for tuning the CVT, but and engine dyno is better for pipes
and engines due to the fact that, as Chuck mentions, the CVT gets in the
way of getting good consistent numbers. 

Mike Keirns (KBS) used to have a guy with a trailer mounted dyno that
worked well for the F500s. He spent a fair amount of time on it and
though the results were well worth it. 

I've put my cars  on a couple of different chassis dynos. Tire slip was
a problem, and we had to really crank it down tight to get repeatable
results. I had no luck with a floor mounted dyno since we couldn't get a
good angle on the pull down straps, but an elevated dyno worked well. We
used a couple of 3" ratchet tie-downs to pull the chassis down hard onto
the rollers.

It will likely ruin the tires, so use old junk that you don't mind
throwing away.
