[F500] another newbie?

Bill,

I agree, my 2001 Red Devil is one piece, and it does make things much
easier than multiple pieces.  If you do decide to cut it, be careful not to
leave small flat sections.  These will be very weak and can break easily.
Try what was said below, and if you still think you want to (and need to)
cut it, there is nothing in the rules preventing it.

You might want to spend some time reconsidering cutting the body into
sections. Perhaps you should think about trimming it to allow it to lift
off as a one piece unit so all mechanicals are available quickly. It
might require some body panel bracing from the back but I find this
setup to be quite nice.

I have a Red Devil (modified '92 chassis with a '99 body) and I can
stand in the cockpit, and pick up the body, then step out of the car.
Everything is ready for work then. It makes pit work so much easier and
my competitors drool every time I perform this feat of magic.
