[F500] another newbie?

Bill -

You can cut the body any way you need to to make it work for you however, it
must remain securely affixed to the car. Dzus fasteners perform wonders.
F440/F500 cars have yet to attain 'collector' status and as such the value
of a car is based more on it's competition accomplishments than it's
'beauty' rating.

As info - my son lives in Lawrence, KS and has experience campaigning my old
86 Red Devil w/Kawasaki in Autocrosses in the Baltimore/Washington area.
He also has had experience crewing for my racing efforts, when I could get
him to the track. He has been a fabricator and over-the-wall crew for two
NASCAR teams and is currently MAIN crew for the Late Model Stock car of
Jenny White who completed the I-70 Speedway (Odessa, MO) season 2nd in the
Late Model Division with 3 feature wins. I don't know if he has any time in
his schedule but I am sending a copy of this response to him. He may be able
to lend a hand or some insights.

Subject: [F500] another newbie?

Greetings folks
My name is Bill Schmidt, I live in Kansas City, and to my knowledge, I
am the very first Kansas City Region member to own a F440/F500. I just
bought mine last week from a guy in New York. I have a 88 Red Devil with
Kawasaki motor. I will have hundreds of questions, but my first one is:
Can I cut the one piece body into 3 sections (front, middle, rear) for
ease of maintenance and tech inspections? Does this cause aerodynamic
problems? Is it legal in our class of racing? Does it reduce the value
of the car? Experts please tackle this question first before I bring out
the tough questions. Thanks
Bill Schmidt (KC region 88 REd Devil)
