After blowing an oil line (large line to crankcase) in practice at Road
America a couple of weeks ago, we
were able to restart and run: though it ran v. poorly. Teardown revealed
ring damage and black coked piston tops. Bottom end seems/measures ok w/o
tearing into it. Clnd. pistons and put in new rings (cyl.s look perfect).
After doing a top end, engine seems to be tight and very hard to pull.
Anything specific to check? I'm thinking (an oxymoron) that I may have : a)
twisted a ring or b) I'm parnoid, a new top end is supposed to sprain one's
wrist when trying to pull. Other suggestions welcomed.
