Chris,
This is how we tie our car down.
You can just cut some of the length out of the strap.
Good luck
Greg

Subject: [F500] Tire Straps - From Who?
Hi guys -
OK, I have Clint McMahans' autocross car, a battery, a gas can on order,
oil, mixing cup, chargers for both on-board and starter batteries,
jack-up stand. I am buying a trailer tomorrow (Friday). A Pace -
gorgeous trailer, one of the nicest I have seen (and I saw some beauties
in Peru this last weekend). Polished stainless steel 3 feet up the
sides, beavertail, reduced height, and a ramp that makes nearly a flat
shot before you crank up the tongue, for just a bit more than a Home
Depot special. On the lot!
So I figure that the EASIEST way to tow is to strap over the left rear
and front right tires. I was at Great Northern today, and they had a
nice over-the-tire strap/net setup, with ratchet, but the darned thing
was six feet long. Too big to fit over my tires, which I measure at 17"
diameter.
Isn't it?
I have searched the internet, to no avail. I ordered the gas can and
several other parts from Pegasus, but they have no such straps.
Any ideas where I can get them? I _want_ to tow to the next event,
which is next weekend, here in Atlanta. I will be gone Sat and Sun,
parents' 50th.
I want to drape the straps, then have recessed D-rings installed as
appropriate.
Thanks!
Chris Eckles
