John,
As far as I know 50 series chain is the same as 530 (50 being an
industrial standard) this is really overkill for the power of a 500, 520
being more typical. O ring or not is more of a durability issue with o ring
lasting longer due to better holding the grease in. Sprocket Specialists
(they have a website) will make any rear you need as long as you can give
them the key dimensions.

Some more info - the links of my current chain have "RK50" stamped
into them.
Is a 50 series chain the same as a 550?
