Since the early days, club racing and EMRA have seen tremendous growth and advancements. Taking a few cues (as well as providing some) from the SCCA, EMRA has become one of the premier sanctioning bodies in the Northeast. FIRA was started in the mid 70s as The Midwest Mini Champ Racing Assoc. With The intent of racing an affordable scaled down Indianapolis style racecar. The cars weight around 600 lb. and are powered by 600cc two cycle Snowmobile and 750cc four cycle Motorcycle Engines. These cars produce Fast, Exciting racing on 1/4 and 1/2 mile oval tracks in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. The mechanical skills required along with Driver ability is equal to any type of oval Track racing. The International Conference of Sports Car Clubs was founded in 1957 with the purpose of providing affordable road racing in the Pacific Northwest.
