MARRS Series Proposed Restrictions

To all who are in the Northeast and run at Summit Point. The MARRS powers that be are proposing that all Regionals be restricted to closed wheel cars at Summit Point, due to the overall lack of attendance of Formula cars. They are not complaining about FV or F500 but feel that if they target FA, FC, FF and FM, it wouldn't be fair to let any Formula cars run.

Doug Marsh captures 2005 F500 National Championship

Doug Marsh, of Eastlake, Ohio, captured his first National Championship Saturday, taking the Formula 500 class win at the 2005 SCCA National Championship Runoffs® Presented by Kohler at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Wiley McMahan, of Covington, Ga., and Michael Brent, of Bethel, Conn., completed the top-three.

Final Grid Set for 2005 Runoffs

The final grid is set for the 2550 SCCA National Championshi race at Mid-Ohio. Tuesday's qualifying time held as the fastest of the week for at least the top three.

The top 5 qualifiers for Saturday's National Championship race are:

2005 SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by Kohler

<IMG SRC="/albums/2005runoffs/runoffs_logo_sm.jpg" align=left> The 2005 SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by Kohler is off to a roaring start at Mid-Ohio. Mike Brent posted the fastest quilifying time of 1:29.530 in the first quilifying session with his Invader QC-1. That's less than a second slower than the top Formula Ford times. Brian Novak hustled his Razavon J10 to a a 1:29.578 and Wiley McMahan rounds out the top 3 with a 1:29.825 in his McMahon MK2.

Tape delayed coverage of this year's F500 National Championship race will be broadcast on SpeedChannel on December 3rd at 1PM EST.
