eFormulacarnews.com Set for Thursday Debut
Posted by: edc on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 - 05:20 PM
Road Racing

Joining the existing media menu under motorsport publisher Rob Howden’s growing banner, eFormulaCarNews.com will make its official debut on Thursday morning when the website’s editorial staff will lock and load in the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course media tower for the final day of qualifying for the SCCA Runoffs. The site has already been loaded with news and press releases from the most recent events and will proceed to develop through daily updates and original editorial. This coming weekend, the SCCA’s national championship shootout will be the site’s primary focus as EFCN brings a new level of online coverage to the pinnacle of grassroots road racing.

EFCN will focus solely on the open wheel junior formula categories, filling a void by beginning with the grassroots forms of the sport and peaking on the development ladder with the Champ Car Formula Atlantic Series and Infiniti Pro Series.

The site has been designed to provide formula car enthusiasts with an online home where they can get a full dose of news and information with every visit. Daily news postings, one-on-one interviews, immediate series information distribution and trackside coverage will be the key highlights of this new offering. EFCN will also feature a Driver Bio section, our Results reporting suite and an online forum to fuel useful and positive discussion on the sport.

HCI produces a pair of motorsport publications in Super Kart Illustrated and FormulaCar Magazine, as well as kart racing’s most popular website – http://www.ekartingnews.com

Field Set For 2004 F500 National Championship

Road Racing

Douglas Marsh, of Eastlake, Ohio, captured his second-consecutive Formula 500 Runoffs pole with a record lap of 1:30.176 (90.144 mph). Marsh hopes to have better luck than in 2003, when his car had a mechanical failure on the first lap. Brian Novak, of Dearborn, Mich., will start second. and defending National Champion Jonathan Dick of Columbus, OH will start 3rd.

This is one of the fastates and tightest F500 fields in Runoffs history, with the top 7 qualifiers all breaking the existing Runoffs record with qualifying laps at 1:30. Less than 8/10ths of a second separate the top seven.
